Hike from Malga Cadino

Access:

Take the SS n42 of Tonale. in Esine or Breno follow the SS 345 of passo di Crocedominiup to the Tassara refuge, in Bazena, here you continue by car and after passo di Crocedomini in the direction of Bagolino, (about 7km) you reach malga Cadino della Banca in Val Cadino, here you can leave your car on the road (parking spaces on the right) and continue on a dirt road (trail sign 19) which leads up to the Corna Bianca (white limestone rock formation emerging in the valley) where the paved path, built in the end of summer 2012, allows you to walk comfortably, and with various up and down, reaches the last stretch of the path coming from Bazena and leads to the Vacca pass. Continue on the historic mule track, reach the lake from above, descend up under the dam wall and back up to the refuge. On the way back, you can take the path that from under the dam wall heads towards Passo della Vacca with a less scenic but shorter route.

The dirt road between Malga Cadino and Corna Bianca can be traveled on with off-road cars and 4×4s, which saves about 45 minutes of walking.

 

Sentiero from Bazena

Take the SS n42 of Tonale, in Esine or Breno follow the SS 345 of Passo di Crocedomini up to the Tassara refuge, in Bazena, here there is a parking lot, located on the left of the road.

Beyond the car park starts a dirt road which, following trail no. 1,that in first place takes us to Val Fredda, then along a long but comfortable and almost flat path, leads us to the Passo di Val Fredda (2321 m asl, ) and, crossing the upper Val Cadino, you reach Passo della Vacca, where there is the bovine-shaped rock that gives the area its name. Continuing on a historic mule track, you reach Lago della Vacca and then the refuge.

 

Hike from Gaver

Time: 2 Hrs. Elevation: 860 mt.

By car you can go up to Locanda Gaver (there is a big parking lot), keep following by foot the path and on the left, near a small church, a path begin which reaches the wide dirt road that leads to the Malghe of Laione (first Bassa and then Alta).Above the malga, the path passes by the ruins of Casinello di Laione and remains on the orographic right of the valley. Then leads to the lake where the refuge Tita Secchi is.

Also coming from Bagolino you can continue on the road to passo di Crocedomini, up to Malga Cadino and choose the less steep path previously described as "Hike from Malga Cadino".
